Our favorite recipe for dulmas (stuffed vine leaves)<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ingredients<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

2 cups uncooked white rice<\/span>
<\/span>1 large onion, chopped<\/span>
<\/span>\u00bd cup chopped fresh dill<\/span>
<\/span>2 quarts broth- we use vegetable. May be replaced with water.<\/span>
<\/span>\u00be cup fresh lemon juice, divided<\/span>
<\/span>Grape leaves Gourmet aLa Maison, drained and rinsed<\/span>
<\/span>hot water as needed<\/span>
<\/span>1 cup olive oil<\/span><\/p>

Directions<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

  1. 1. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, saute the rice, onion and dill for about 5 minutes, or until onion is soft. Pour in 1 quart of broth, reduce heat to low and simmer for another 10- 15 minutes, or until rice is almost cooked. Stir in 1\/2 of lemon juice and remove from heat.<\/span><\/li>

  3. 2. Take one leaf, shiny side down, and place 1 teaspoon of the rice mixture at the bottom end of the leaf. Fold both sides of the leaf towards the center, roll up from the broad bottom to the top, and place into a pot. Repeat with all leaves, leaving no gaps as leaves are placed in pot. This prevents from opening while cooking. Sprinkle with remaining lemon juice and with olive oil.<\/span><\/li>

  5. 3. Pour the other 1 quart of broth over all to cover vine leaves. Cover pot and simmer for about 1 hour. Remove from heat, remove cover and let cool for 1\/2 hour.
